Songwriting Goals for Friday, January 30, 2009

Weekly goal: to finish the 3/4, 5/4 song in E, and refine "impossible scenes" (ending, vocals on chorus). Also to complete the assignment to write 4 I-IV phrases in 4 different keys/grooves, complemented by 12 different melodies (4 major pentatonic, 4 minor pentatonic, 4 mixed)

Monday: (3/4, 5/4 song)Free write, what the song will be about, or a central image, title ideas.

(assignment) write 4 different phrases in 4 different keys/grooves.

Tuesday: (3/4 song) Write chords for the verse, try out melodies.

(assignment) Write 4 major pentatonic melodies, record

Wednesday: (3/4 song)Write lyrics for the verse, joined to melody.

(assignment) Write 4 minor pentatonic melodies, record

Thursday: Work on ending and vocals for "impossible scenes"

(assignment) Write 4 mixed melodies, record
